1️⃣ Ovarian Stimulation: By using hormonal injections, we aim to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs instead of single egg during a woman’s natural menstrual cycle. This step is crucial for maximizing the chances of fertilization and eventually a successful conception.
2️⃣ Egg Retrieval: A minor surgical procedure which is also known as Ovum Pick Up. It is performed under sedation to retrieve mature eggs (Ova) from both ovaries. Our professional team will ensure your safety and wellbeing throughout the procedure.
3️⃣ Sperm Collection: After or during egg retrieval procedure, male partner will be requested to produce semen sample via masturbation. The collected sperm will undergo few rounds of sperm washing to yield optimized sperm and air in fertilization.
4️⃣ Fertilization: In a laboratory setting with a controlled environment, our Embryologist (scientist) will fertilize the collected eggs with the sperms. This can be achieved through either conventional IVF or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), depending on the circumstances and patient’s profile.
5️⃣ Embryo Development: The fertilized eggs which are now termed embryos, are cultured in a laboratory incubator for ~ 3 to 6 days, where embryologists will closely monitor their development. The most healthy and potential embryos will be selected to transfer back to the womb (uterus) for implantation and pregnancy.
6️⃣ Embryo Transfer: The selected embryos are then transferred back into the womb using a fine straw-like carrier typically known as Embryo Transfer Catheter. This is a relatively short, simple, and painless procedure that usually does not require anaesthesia.
7️⃣ Post-Transfer Care: Following the embryo transfer, we provide ongoing support, guidance and monitoring to optimize the chances of successful implantation and pregnancy. Additional hormone supplementation is necessary to maintain uterus lining at its optimal health.
